Branch by Abstraction

Branch by Abstraction is a technique to manage longer to complete changes in trunk via a gradual set of changes. Whenever a change may take several days to complete, developers sometimes push to create a branch arguing that their code may be unstable for a time before it is “done” (and gets merged back to trunk).
