Long-lived Feature Branching

A feature branch involves an individual or a team of developers creating a clone feature branch from trunk/main on which to make modifications.

There are many problems with this model including lack of transparency to anyone not working on the branch, tendency to allow the branch to extend over a longer period of time “until we finish”, and the very real issue of merge hell at the end.
