Swift
Swift is a fast, modern, concise language developed by Apple and made open source in 2014. Swift puts a strong emphasis on compile type safety allowing developers to catch mistakes early.
It is an active developed language and by being open source, everyone can see what changes are planned, discussed and implemented. Swift code is able to run on all Apple platforms, Linux, Windows and also in constrained environments like a Raspberry Pi.
Apple itself is building more and more Swift-only frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftChars, etc) and in 2022 at its Worldwide Developer Conference declared that “the best way to build an app is with Swift and SwiftUI” giving a clear indication on its future plans for the platform.
The community effort is all towards building tooling/libraries in Swift instead of Objective-C, the only native alternative to Swift. Objective-C it already became a legacy language.
By using Swift you are empowered to create the best native experience for the platform, be ready for new OS updates; all while allowing the developer to write more expressive and maintainable code.
Alternatives are only cross-platform tools, that provide all subpar experiences both in term of UI/UX and performance.
