Typescript is an extension of Javascript which attempts to transform a dynamically typed language (JS) into a strongly typed one. Typescript lets developer have more confidence in what their building and prevents many of the common bugs and exceptins an application could throw. It also adds abstraction through interfaces, type generics and type inference.
Typescript should always be used in strict mode.
Typescript's usage general strategy:
Everytime you're writing any Javascript based application, with or without any framework, you should use Typescript instead.
